Temporary Casual Recreation Program Inclusion Facilitator

 

 

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum of attending University or college in related field
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions and be physically able to perform duties.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Principles of  Healthy Child Development
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Safeguard Certification
  • Training in the area of inclusion an asset
  • Must have a Class 2 driver’s license in good standing and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Must be available all of the following days:
    • Sept 27, Oct 25, Nov 15, Dec 23, Dec 27, Dec 30, Jan 2, Jan 3, Jan 24, Mar 6,

                    Mar 16-20, Jun 5, Jun 26

 

Duties:

  1. To provide children with special needs the opportunity to develop social, cognitive and physical skills through participation in recreation PA Day, Holiday and March Break programming
  2. Share in preparation, development, implementation, and evaluation of playground activities and off site excursions.
  3. Communicate and share pertinent information and feedback regarding participants involvement with program supervisor, City Staff and family
  4. Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of parents, children and fellow caregivers
  5. Provide a safe, clean and enjoyable learning environment on and off site
  6. Provide 1:1 individualized assistance to children with special needs including some personal care
  7. Attend all training as required (Inclusion, City of Woodstock, PHCD, Behaviour Management)
  8. Assist with leader duties and at times be included in ratio.
  9. Physical demands are required of this position; including lifting, running, bending etc. 

10. Program planning of daily activities, presenters and off site trips.

 

Salary rate is $16.77 per hour as per Schedule “A” of the collective agreement. Scheduled for 8-8.5 hour shifts for PA days or 24 - 40 hour work weeks for Holiday and March break camps which may include weekends and alternate shift hours.  Will be required to work in adverse weather conditions.  May be required to work overtime.
