Wading Pool Attendant Summer Student

Overview

Does the sound of kids’ laughter warm your heart? Can you spot something out of place from across the pool? Do you take a headcount wherever you go? If so, you may be a perfect fit for our Wading Pool Attendant. This summer position helps ensure our wading pool patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience while visiting our facility.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of wading pool patrons
  • Enforce and maintain City of Woodstock Policy and Procedures
  • Enforce and maintain provincial Wading Pool Guidelines
  • Custodial duties in the wading pool area to maintain a clean and safe facility
  • Taking payments for admissions and concession stand
  • Tracking patron numbers
  • Provide first aid when required

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum of attending high school and must be returning to school full-time.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions and be physically able to perform duties.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Pool Attendant Certification.

Even better if you have:

  • Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross certification

  • In-person interviews will be on Thursday March 23, 2023 from 4:00pm. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Salary rate is $14.60 - $15.50 per hour as per Schedule "B" of the collective agreement.
  • Scheduled 20-35 hour workweek which will include weekends and alternate shift hours.
  • Will be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • In accordance with the City of Woodstock’s Covid-19 Vaccination Policy, new employees hired with the City of Woodstock are required to be fully vaccinated (2 doses) as a condition of employment, subject to accommodations required in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code.
