Temporary Casual Recreation Program Leader

 

 

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum of completion of Grade 10 in secondary education.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions and be physically able to perform duties.
  • Must have Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification
  • Must have or willing to get Principles of Healthy Child Development certificate
  • Must have or willing to get Safeguard Certification
  • Must have Class G2 Ontario Driver’s License in good standing and access to a vehicle
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children ages 6-12 in a camp or program environment.
  • Must be available all of the following days:
    • Sept 27, Oct 25, Nov 15, Dec 23, Dec 27, Dec 30, Jan 2, Jan 3, Jan 24, Mar 6, Mar 16-20, Jun 5, Jun 26

Duties:

  1. Responsible for the direct delivery of program to participants
  2. Responsible for Custodial Duties in the designated program areas
  3. Responsible for reporting to the Site Supervisor
  4. Responsible for the safety and supervision of participants
  5. Responsible for the tracking of programs, attendance, incidents, accidents
  6. Responsible for following the City of Woodstock’s policies and procedures

 

Salary rate is $13.98 per hour if under the age of 18, and $14.00 per hour if 18 or older, as per Schedule “A” of the collective agreement. Scheduled for 8-8.5 hour shifts for PA days or 24 - 40 hour work weeks for Holiday and March break camps which may include weekends and alternate shift hours.  Will be required to work in adverse weather conditions.  May be required to work overtime.
